Calico Woman

January/February 2010

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer."  Psalm 19:14

Welcome to Calico Woman, a website of colorful bits and pieces that together make up the life of a 50 plus wife, mother and grandmother in Madison, Wisconsin.  On this site you will find:
At My Feeder: A bird and wildlife lover's observations
Book Jacket: A review of books I've read and am reading (not just bestsellers)
CaregiverThoughts and resources as I journey through Alzheimer's Disease as a caregiver
Green w/Roots: Personal notes on gardening and house plants
Label Queen: Organizational tips. (a title conferred by my jealous children)
On My Knees: Devotional reflections on the spiritual impact of daily events.
Missionary Mom: A daughter in Romania and what that means
The Empty Nest Blog: Musings from a 50+ life

At My Feeder: What's A GBBC?
It’s that time of year again, the sun is getting stronger the cardinals are starting to sing and the GBBC is just around the corner.  The what?

A New Role

As some of you have noticed Calico Woman went on a "hiatus" the last few months.  First it was health issues of my own, but then a new opportunity presented itself.  My father-in-law has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and could no longer live alone.  My husband and I have moved him from Florida to live with us here in Wisconsin.  As you can imagine it has meant a total life change.  I hope to be able to share some of that here with you.  You may see some changes to the format and content of Calico Woman as time is more limited now.  Thank you to those of you who have supported this effort with your encouragement and comments.  Stay tuned!
