Deep
Thought in the Drive-Thru Every Wednesday, my
husband and I have dinner at our favorite fast food restaurant on the way to Bible Study. Quite frequently my husband
is traveling for business and I decide to go through the drive-thru instead of going in. This has happened often
enough that the Wednesday "drive-thru guy" and I are having actual conversations. Recently he was at the window
wearing a short sleeve shirt in sub-zero temperatures. He blamed it on his locker in Middle School. We laughed
saying, "who knew our lives were defined in middle school" and then he said it...."It was one moment in time
when you choose one road or the other." Wow! Pretty deep thought for the drive-thru. Life is full of those
choices, some significant, some not so much. There is one crossroad we all come to and the decision is the most significant
one you will ever make. Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter by the narrow gate: For the gate is wide and the way is easy that
leads to destruction and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life,
and those who find it are few." (The original "Road Less Travelled") Will you choose eternal destruction
or eternal life? Where is the narrow gate? John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way and the truth
and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me'" It's your choice, the decision that will change
your life and your death.
